We have already written posts here mentioning when Commercial exhibitions or expositions started in Brazil and with more or less knowledge, everyone knows and maybe, they might have been to at least one of them.
I have also written here that as a Marketing action, there is nothing so efficient, as long as you do absolutely everything right and this takes years of analysis, practice and improvement. Don`t forget the money.
We still know that every day new technologies and ideas create opportunities that shake the market and how we perceive it, dictating new directions and causing several reactions in its segments with all sorts of opinions.
In our Exhibitions world, we understand that myownexpo® is one of those innovations. Of course I created it and so it’s easy to write this, but seriously, it’s true.
We´ve made some presentations to companies we know and who have a lot of expertise in their markets and a few customers and it was interesting how each one of them, as viewing the platform, could ask something that had never crossed their minds, because they had never seen anything like it and so their minds started to understand the solution and how it would affect them and so they asked to know a little more, what this technology could do for their business.
The scheduled launch would be 2020, with the final official publication of the Trademark Registry and everything related to it, a process that started in 2018. But with new issues of the pandemic, which shook everyone, I chose to wait and watch more.
The market has evolved and absorbed such an old but fantastic technology to remotely talk with video, to someone else. The American AT&T was the first to launch in 1964, 3 years before I was born, the video call. For years the wonderful Skype “was king” alone. To continue, companies responded with severals actions to interact with their audiences and suppliers in the market saw the opportunity that these years allowed to explore. I waited and continued to study the global market and its players and I liked everything I saw.
Finally, this so-called innovation doesn’t stop, I understand that since it started it has never stopped and will not stop affecting and causing changes that impact our behavior for the opportunity to know something new and that therefore transforms our opinion.
However, still alone with the task of explaining exactly what I was talking about, among many others, it was difficult even for programmers and architects to understand and execute what needed to be executed. I myself started to study codes, virtualization softwares and the available technology to create a MOE that was easy and efficient.
The future of Exhibitions
In 2017, in a presentation meeting in a French multinational client about its Strategic Plan, I explored this theme in my presentation. I said:
“I see the stand/booth of the future as a relatively small space where we will have 2 models, one male and one female, both with a t-shirt with a QR Code printed on them for visitors to access the exhibitor’s contents. With Godiva chocolates in a crystal bowl and in another prominent position a holographic display.”
All this already exists today and despite being very innovative (is it?), it still needs some time to be accepted. However, the first will always be the first.
The other structures of an exhibitor will be behind a screen. This is what I call Hybrid, this strategy of having something physical somewhere, belonging to you or not. And everything else, belongs to you and are in your domain and control.

And then I heard about metaverse in 2022
Now, lots of companies are engaging on the metaverse to be updated, some I know and have presented the platform for them, were a huge surprise for me. Mimicking as everything they know to do, back to the same old CRTL+C, CRTL+V. Others, willing to be the 1st in market share but lacking courage to be the number one.
Think. As long as internet has been created, this “metaverse” has also been created. It is just another name for the same thing, let´s call it a marketing expression as it really is intended to sound new. New technologies are new technologies, I know. Call it what you want, but it is the same thing. Let´s not mix, okay?
